For HCN, the challenge of health sector investment goes beyond the ability to manage assets to achieve cost savings while providing high quality services. It is to answer the question of how health sector investment can contribute to sustainable economic growth and social cohesion within regions.

Overview of HCN organization

HCN is a non-profit based European interregional organisation.

At its September 2010 Board meeting the current HCN partners agreed that HCN should retain its non-profit status but that it should shift from being a members organisation to being a partners organisation. In part, this is driven by a need to maintain financial sustainability by providing a basis for a more diversified income stream.

From January 2011 HCN has adopted a new partnership structure. The current legal basis for HCN is as a non-profit company limited by guarantee in the United Kingdom. Overall, HCN is governed by a Board comprising a Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, a representative for each Advanced Partner and an elected Full Partner representative from the Council of Partners.
